Junior Section

Junior activities include competitions, normally played on Sundays, along with regular Saturday morning lessons and golf tuition days during school holidays. arranged by our Professional Graham Drabble and his team. 

All Juniors are offered group coaching or individual lessons from our excellent professional golfers.

Once out on the course, and to ensure our juniors are not overawed by a full length course, each hole has a variety of tees to suit Junior beginners as they progress their game, with the more experienced Juniors, with lower handicaps, being able to enter the main Club competitions which are usually held on Saturdays and Thursdays.

In the 2024 season the RGC Junior Team won the Derbyshire & Cheshire (D&C) League Trophy and the D&C Best Gross Shield.

Our Junior Teams also have the opportunity to take part in the following inter-club leagues and knockout competitions:

• The Mid-Cheshire Junior League
• The Derbyshire & Cheshire League
• The Manchester & District Williams BMW Knockout
• The Cheshire Junior Team Championship
• Golf 6’s - For Juniors with no handicap or higher than 36
• Golf 9’s - For Juniors with handicaps playing just 9 holes

Junior Major Competitions

Junior members also have a series of 'Major' competitions where they all have a chance to etch their names in the Club's history by being noted on one of our many celebratory 'Boards' around the Clubhouse, namely:
